2016-07-18dix: Switch to the libXfont2 API (v2)Keith Packard1-12/+6
This new libXfont API eliminates exposing internal X server symbols to the font library, replacing those with a struct full of the entire API needed to use that library. v2: Use libXfont2 instead of libXfont_2 Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com> Reviewed-by: Adam Jackson <ajax@redhat.com>
2015-08-17dixfont.h: Include fontutil.h before GetGlyphs is #definedKeith Packard1-0/+1
This eliminates the duplicate declaration of dixGetGlyphs when fontutil.h gets included after dixfont.h has defined GetGlyphs as dixGetGlyphs. Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com> Reviewed-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2014-07-17Avoid starting a comment with */*Peter Harris1-5/+5
Even though -Wcomment doesn't mind it (in gcc or clang), the appearance of */* confuses the syntax highlighter of some editors (eg. vim), and causes warnings in MSVC. 2014-01-12Replace 'pointer' type with 'void *'Keith Packard1-3/+3
This lets us stop using the 'pointer' typedef in Xdefs.h as 'pointer' is used throughout the X server for other things, and having duplicate names generates compiler warnings. Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com> Reviewed-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2014-01-12Clean up warnings in DIXKeith Packard1-3/+3
As usual, mostly const char changes. However, filter_device_events had a potentially uninitialized value, 'raw', which I added a bunch of checks for. I suspect most of those are 'can't happen', but it's hard to see that inside the function. Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com> Reviewed-by: Adam Jackson <ajax@redhat.com>
2012-11-05dix: fix redundant redeclaration warnings in dixfontYaakov Selkowitz1-38/+1
These functions are already declared in <X11/fonts/fontproto.h>. Redeclaring them just for _X_EXPORT causes tons of warnings throughout xserver, but they need to be declared somewhere to be picked up by sdksyms.sh. Doing so in a private header limits the warnings to sdksyms.c; fixing those as well would require changes to fontsproto. 2012-07-02Add dixGetGlyphs to replace GetGlyphs from libXfont to simplify linkingAlan Coopersmith1-6/+7
No other Xfont consumer used it, and this saves us from having to link callers against libXfont for one simple function when doing -no-undefined symbols builds. The function is given a new name to avoid clashing with existing libXfont binaries, but a #define is provided to preserve the API so we don't have to fix all the callers at the same time. 2012-03-21Introduce a consistent coding styleKeith Packard1-94/+93
This is strictly the application of the script 'x-indent-all.sh' from util/modular. Compared to the patch that Daniel posted in January, I've added a few indent flags: -bap -psl -T PrivatePtr -T pmWait -T _XFUNCPROTOBEGIN -T _XFUNCPROTOEND -T _X_EXPORT The typedefs were needed to make the output of sdksyms.sh match the previous output, otherwise, the code is formatted badly enough that sdksyms.sh generates incorrect output. The generated code was compared with the previous version and found to be essentially identical -- "assert" line numbers and BUILD_TIME were the only differences found. The comparison was done with this script: dir1=$1 dir2=$2 for dir in $dir1 $dir2; do (cd $dir && find . -name '*.o' | while read file; do dir=`dirname $file` base=`basename $file .o` dump=$dir/$base.dump objdump -d $file > $dump done) done find $dir1 -name '*.dump' | while read dump; do otherdump=`echo $dump | sed "s;$dir1;$dir2;"` diff -u $dump $otherdump done Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com> Acked-by: Daniel Stone <daniel@fooishbar.org> Acked-by: Alan Coopersmith <alan.coopersmith@oracle.com>
2010-06-24dix: use one single function to register fpe fontsTiago Vignatti1-4/+1
X server doesn't need to understand fpe internals, so use register_fpe_functions from libXfont. It's required to get new version of libXfont, therefore adjust it to be passed to autoconf. 2010-05-12SetFontPath: set client->errorValue on failure.Jamey Sharp1-2/+1
Previously the callers were only setting errorValue on Success, when it's ignored, and leaving it alone on failure, when it's sent to the client. Since SetFontPath takes the ClientPtr, let it set client->errorValue instead of letting the callers continue to get it wrong. 2009-01-07Default to use standard bitmap fonts, with builtins as fallbackPaulo Cesar Pereira de Andrade1-0/+5
The builtin-fonts configure option was removed, as it at best should have been a runtime option. Instead, now it always register all "font path element" backends, and adds built-ins fonts at the end of the default font path. This should be a more reasonable solution, to "correct" the most common Xorg FAQ (could not open default font 'fixed'), and also don't break by default applications that use only the standard/historical X Font rendering.
2008-12-03Rework symbol visibility for easier maintenancePaulo Cesar Pereira de Andrade1-26/+64
Save in a few special cases, _X_EXPORT should not be used in C source files. Instead, it should be used in headers, and the proper C source include that header. Some special cases are symbols that need to be shared between modules, but not expected to be used by external drivers, and symbols that are accessible via LoaderSymbol/dlopen. This patch also adds conditionally some new sdk header files, depending on extensions enabled. These files were added to match pattern for other extensions/modules, that is, have the headers "deciding" symbol visibility in the sdk. These headers are: o Xext/panoramiXsrv.h, Xext/panoramiX.h o fbpict.h (unconditionally) o vidmodeproc.h o mioverlay.h (unconditionally, used only by xaa) o xfixes.h (unconditionally, symbols required by dri2) LoaderSymbol and similar functions now don't have different prototypes, in loaderProcs.h and xf86Module.h, so that both headers can be included, without the need of defining IN_LOADER. xf86NewInputDevice() device prototype readded to xf86Xinput.h, but not exported (and with a comment about it).
