2022-07-01ARM: davinci: Delete DM644x board filesLinus Walleij1-238/+0
The interest of maintaining the DaVinci DM644x board files seems very low. Patches to convert the EVM board to use GPIO descriptors has not been reviewed, tested or merged for several merge windows in a row, see link below. When I look in the logs for the board files I see nothing but generic kernel maintenance and no testing on real hardware for years. I conclude the DM644x board files are unused and can be deleted. 2022-04-29ARM: davinci: remove include/mach/ subdirectoryArnd Bergmann1-4/+3
The files in include/mach are only used from mach/davinci, so they are no longer needed in the traditional location. Move them to arch/arm/mach-davinci/ and drop the logic for the special include path. The mach/uncompress.h file is not used at all and can just be removed. We're going to extend the davinci_irq_init() function with a config structure so we can drop the intc-related fields from davinci_soc_info. Once we do it, we won't be able to use this routine directly as the init_irq callback. Wrap the calls in additional helpers that don't take parameters and can be assigned to init_irq. dm644x_init_devices() is unnecessarily implemented as a postcore_initcall(). This does not cause any issues now, but creates issues when converting to common clock framework where clocks themselves become platform devices and are initialized later. Because of this, device clock acquisition and runtime PM on that device fails. Move the call to .init_machine() callback along with rest of platform device's registration. 2018-02-19ARM: davinci: move davinci_clk_init() to init_timeDavid Lechner1-1/+1
This moves the call of davinci_clk_init() from map_io to init_time for all boards. This is the proper place to init clocks. This is also done in preparation for moving to the common clock framework. dm646x is a special case because we need to handle different ref_clk rates depending on which board is being used. The clock init in this case is modified to set the rate before registering the clocks instead of using davinci_set_refclk_rate() to recalculate the entire clock tree after all of the clocks are registered. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. As a first step towards migrating davinci platforms to use common clock framework, replace all instances of clk_enable() with clk_prepare_enable() and clk_disable() with clk_disable_unprepare(). Until the platform is switched to use the CONFIG_HAVE_CLK_PREPARE Kconfig variable, this just adds a might_sleep() call and would work without any issues. This will make it easy later to switch to common clk based implementation of clk driver from DaVinci specific driver. ntosd2_init_i2c walks the ntosd2_i2c_info array, which it expects to be populated with at least one member. gcc correctly warns about the out-of-bounds access here. Since this can not possibly work, it's better to disable i2c support entirely on this board. Remove individual platform header files for dm365, dm355, dm644x and dm646x and consolidate it into a single and common header file davinci.h placed in arch/arm/mach-davinci. This reduces the pollution in the include/mach and is consistent with Russell's suggestions as part of his "pet peaves" mail. (See #4 in: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2011-November/071516.html) While at it, fix the forward declaration of spi_board_info, and include the right header file instead. Commit 5a05a8200a4359ef2bfe9094c137dee35cfdd516 ("davinci_emac: use an unique MDIO bus name") introduced during the v3.3 merge window updated the davinci mdio bus name to make it unique. Update the bus name in board files which use DaVinci MDIO bus to match the new name. This patch works with the following three flags from two headers (nand.h and bbm.h): (1) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (nand.h) (2) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (nand.h) (3) NAND_BBT_NO_OOB (bbm.h) These flags are all related and interdependent, yet they were in different headers. Flag (2) is simply the combination of (1) and (3) and can be eliminated. This patch accomplishes the following: * eliminate NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (i.e., flag (2)) * move NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (i.e., flag (1)) to bbm.h It's important to note that because (1) and (3) are now both found in bbm.h, they should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. I removed a small section from the mtdnand DocBook because it referes to NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT in nand.h, which has been moved to bbm.h. Currently each DaVinci board file #define's its own version of the EMIFA base addresses (all named DAVINCI_ASYNC_EMIF_*_BASE), which leads to duplication. Move these #define's to the SoC specific headers, changing their prefixes from 'DAVINCI' to the 'DM355', 'DM644X', and 'DM646X' since all these base addresses are SoC specific... And while at it, rename DM646X_ASYNC_EMIF_DATA_CE0_BASE to DM646X_ASYNC_EMIF_CS2_SPACE_BASE in order to match the DM646x datasheet. The Neuros OSD 2.0 is the hardware component of the Neuros Open Internet Television Platform. Hardware is very close to Ti DM644X-EVM board. It has: DM6446M02 module with 256MB NAND, 256MB RAM, TLV320AIC32 AIC, USB, Ethernet, SD/MMC, UART, THS8200, TVP7000 for video. Additionaly realtime clock, IR remote control receiver, IR Blaster based on MSP430 (firmware although is different from used in DM644X-EVM), internal ATA-6 3.5” HDD drive with PATA interface, two muxed red-green leds.
