2015-10-21brcmfmac: Fix race condition between USB probe/load and disconnect.Hante Meuleman1-3/+26
When a USB device gets disconnected due to for example removal then it is possible that it is still in the loading phase due to the asynchronous load routines. These routines can then possible access memory which has been freed. Fix this by mutex locking the device init phase. 2015-01-29brcmfmac: do not load firmware when device is already runningArend van Spriel1-0/+2
In brcmf_usb_probe_cb() the device is checked to determine whether it is already running firmware. However, when no firmware download is needed it still continues to request the firmware files. This is fixed by returning after successful setup. 2015-01-29brcmfmac: SDIO: avoid using bus state for private states.Hante Meuleman1-1/+1
Each bus driver is maintaing an exported bus state indicating if upper layers can or cannot send data. SDIO is using this state also for more private states. This makes handling the states and state changes complex. This patch minimises the exposed states and makes SDIO keep track of an internal state where necessary. Kill the submitted URB in brcmf_usb_dl_cmd if the request timed out. This assures the URB is never submitted twice. Some of the USB devices also have Bluetooth inside. These devices can with specific firmware result in a composite USB device. This change will update the driver such that it will also accept the correct interface of composite devices. It is backward compatible with old non-composite USB fw. 2014-05-13brcmfmac: Make FWS queueing configurable.Hante Meuleman1-0/+1
FWS is always queuing frames and using a worker for de-queueing, this is not always efficient for all bus layer. For example SDIO has an internal queue and worker making the queueing of FWS unnecessary. Make it possible to bypass the worker if fws mode is none using a bus interface configuration. For USB bus layer this configuration is set true to have fws provide queueing regardless the fws mode. 2013-09-26brcmfmac: obtain platform data upon module initializationArend van Spriel1-1/+1
The driver uses platform_driver_probe() to obtain platform data if any. However, that function is placed in the .init section so it must be called upon driver module initialization. The problem was reported by Fenguang Wu resulting in a kernel oops because the .init section was already freed. [ 48.966342] Switched to clocksource tsc [ 48.970002] kernel tried to execute NX-protected page - exploit attempt? With firmware-signalling the packet handed to the bus specific driver layer should not be discarded with brcmf_txcomplete() in the failure path. 2013-06-12brcmfmac: Take bus flowcontrol at credit mgmt into account.Hante Meuleman1-0/+8
On bus flow control (no more host bus resources to send packets to device) the netif flow control was toggled, however credit management should also take this status into account. Since there are multiple sources handling this flow control necessary spinlocks were added to protect flow control related data/states. For transmit packets the function brcmf_txcomplete() must be called. This should be done as well when for some reason the transmit fails to assure proper tx post processing.
