irq_set_affinity_hint() is deprecated, Use irq_update_affinity_hint()
instead. This removes the side-effect of actually applying the affinity.
The driver does not really need to worry about spreading its IRQs across
CPUs. The core code already takes care of that. when the driver applies the
affinities by itself, it breaks the users' expectations:
1. The user configures irqbalance with IRQBALANCE_BANNED_CPULIST in
order to prevent IRQs from being moved to certain CPUs that run a
real-time workload.
2. atlantic device reopening will resets the affinity
in aq_ndev_open().
3. atlantic has no idea about irqbalance's config, so it may move an IRQ to
a banned CPU. The real-time workload suffers unacceptable latency.

Add support for reading SFP module info and digital diagnostic
monitoring data if supported by the module. The only Aquantia
controller without an integrated PHY is the AQC100 which belongs to
the B0 revision, that's why it's only implemented there.
The register information was extracted from a diagnostic tool made
publicly available by Dell, but all code was written from scratch by me.
This has been tested to work with a variety of both optical and direct
attach modules I had lying around and seems to work fine with all of
them, including the diagnostics if supported by an optical module.
All tests have been done with an AQC100 on an TL-NT521F card on firmware
version 3.1.121 (current at the time of this patch).

Replace comma between expressions with semicolons.
Using a ',' in place of a ';' can have unintended side effects.
Although that is not the case here, it is seems best to use ';'
unless ',' is intended.

W=1 builds with GCC 14.2.0 warn that:
.../aq_ethtool.c:278:59: warning: ‘%d’ directive output may be truncated writing between 1 and 11 bytes into a region of size 6 [-Wformat-truncation=]

278 | snprintf(tc_string, 8, "TC%d ", tc);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
tc is always in the range 0 - cfg->tcs. And as cfg->tcs is a u8,
the range is 0 - 255. Further, on inspecting the code, it seems
that cfg->tcs will never be more than AQ_CFG_TCS_MAX (8), so
the range is actually 0 - 8.
So, it seems that the condition that GCC flags will not occur.
But, nonetheless, it would be nice if it didn't emit the warning.
It seems that this can be achieved by changing the format specifier
from %d to %u, in which case I believe GCC recognises an upper bound
on the range of tc of 0 - 255. After some experimentation I think
this is due to the combination of the use of %u and the type of
cfg->tcs (u8).
Empirically, updating the type of the tc variable to unsigned int
has the same effect.
As both of these changes seem to make sense in relation to what the code
is actually doing - iterating over unsigned values - do both.
Compile tested only.

In prevision to add new UAPI for hwtstamp we will be limited to the struct
ethtool_ts_info that is currently passed in fixed binary format through the
ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO ethtool ioctl. It would be good if new kernel code
already started operating on an extensible kernel variant of that
structure, similar in concept to struct kernel_hwtstamp_config vs struct
hwtstamp_config.
Since struct ethtool_ts_info is in include/uapi/linux/ethtool.h, here
we introduce the kernel-only structure in include/linux/ethtool.h.
The manual copy is then made in the function called by ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO.

Kbuild conventionally uses $(obj)/ for generated files, and $(src)/ for
checked-in source files. It is merely a convention without any functional
difference. In fact, $(obj) and $(src) are exactly the same, as defined
in scripts/Makefile.build:
src := $(obj)
When the kernel is built in a separate output directory, $(src) does
not accurately reflect the source directory location. While Kbuild
resolves this discrepancy by specifying VPATH=$(srctree) to search for
source files, it does not cover all cases. For example, when adding a
header search path for local headers, -I$(srctree)/$(src) is typically
passed to the compiler.
This introduces inconsistency between upstream and downstream Makefiles
because $(src) is used instead of $(srctree)/$(src) for the latter.
To address this inconsistency, this commit changes the semantics of
$(src) so that it always points to the directory in the source tree.
Going forward, the variables used in Makefiles will have the following
meanings:
$(obj) - directory in the object tree
$(src) - directory in the source tree (changed by this commit)
$(objtree) - the top of the kernel object tree
$(srctree) - the top of the kernel source tree
Consequently, $(srctree)/$(src) in upstream Makefiles need to be replaced
with $(src).

In order to pass EEE link modes beyond bit 32 to userspace we have to
complement the 32 bit bitmaps in struct ethtool_eee with linkmode
bitmaps. Therefore, similar to ethtool_link_settings and

Driver has a logic leak in ring data allocation/free,
where aq_ring_free could be called multiple times on same ring,
if system is under stress and got memory allocation error.
Ring pointer was used as an indicator of failure, but this is
not correct since only ring data is allocated/deallocated.
Ring itself is an array member.
Changing ring allocation functions to return error code directly.
This simplifies error handling and eliminates aq_ring_free
on higher layer.

The get/set_rxfh ethtool ops currently takes the rxfh (RSS) parameters
as direct function arguments. This will force us to change the API (and
all drivers' functions) every time some new parameters are added.
This is part 1/2 of the fix, as suggested in [1]:
- First simplify the code by always providing a pointer to all params
(indir, key and func); the fact that some of them may be NULL seems
like a weird historic thing or a premature optimization.
It will simplify the drivers if all pointers are always present.
- Then make the functions take a dev pointer, and a pointer to a
single struct wrapping all arguments. The set_* should also take
an extack.

If is_ptp_ring == true in the loop of __aq_ring_xdp_clean function,
then a timestamp is stored from a packet in a field of skb object,
which is not allocated at the moment of the call (skb == NULL).
Generalize aq_ptp_extract_ts and other affected functions so they don't
work with struct sk_buff*, but with struct skb_shared_hwtstamps*.

Most users use __skb_frag_set_page()/skb_frag_off_set()/
skb_frag_size_set() to fill the page desc for a skb frag.
Introduce skb_frag_fill_page_desc() to do that.
net/bpf/test_run.c does not call skb_frag_off_set() to
set the offset, "copy_from_user(page_address(page), ...)"
and 'shinfo' being part of the 'data' kzalloced in
bpf_test_init() suggest that it is assuming offset to be
initialized as zero, so call skb_frag_fill_page_desc()
with offset being zero for this case.
Also, skb_frag_set_page() is not used anymore, so remove
it.

Now macsec on top of vlan can be offloaded to macsec offloading
devices so that VLAN tag is sent in clear text on wire i.e,
packet structure is DMAC|SMAC|VLAN|SECTAG. Offloading devices can
simply enable NETIF_F_HW_MACSEC feature in netdev->vlan_features for
this to work. But the logic in offloading drivers to retrieve the
private structure from netdev needs to be changed to check whether
the netdev received is real device or a vlan device and get private
structure accordingly. This patch changes the offloading drivers to
use helper macsec_netdev_priv instead of netdev_priv.

The aq_xdp_run_prog() function falls back to the XDP_ABORTED action
handler (using a goto) if the operations for any of the other actions fail.
The XDP_ABORTED handler in turn calls the bpf_warn_invalid_xdp_action()
tracepoint. However, the function also jumps into the XDP_PASS helper if no
XDP program is loaded on the device, which means the XDP_ABORTED handler
can be run with a NULL program pointer. This results in a NULL pointer
deref because the tracepoint dereferences the 'prog' pointer passed to it.
This situation can happen in multiple ways:
- If a packet arrives between the removal of the program from the interface
and the static_branch_dec() in aq_xdp_setup()
- If there are multiple devices using the same driver in the system and
one of them has an XDP program loaded and the other does not.
Fix this by refactoring the aq_xdp_run_prog() function to remove the 'goto
pass' handling if there is no XDP program loaded. Instead, factor out the
skb building in a separate small helper function.

A summary of the flags being set for various drivers is given below.
Note that XDP_F_REDIRECT_TARGET and XDP_F_FRAG_TARGET are features
that can be turned off and on at runtime. This means that these flags
may be set and unset under RTNL lock protection by the driver. Hence,
READ_ONCE must be used by code loading the flag value.
Also, these flags are not used for synchronization against the availability
of XDP resources on a device. It is merely a hint, and hence the read
may race with the actual teardown of XDP resources on the device. This
may change in the future, e.g. operations taking a reference on the XDP
resources of the driver, and in turn inhibiting turning off this flag.
However, for now, it can only be used as a hint to check whether device
supports becoming a redirection target.

NIC is stopped with rtnl_lock held, and during the stop it cancels the
'service_task' work and free irqs.
However, if CONFIG_MACSEC is set, rtnl_lock is acquired both from
aq_nic_service_task and aq_linkstate_threaded_isr. Then a deadlock
happens if aq_nic_stop tries to cancel/disable them when they've already
started their execution.
As the deadlock is caused by rtnl_lock, it causes many other processes
to stall, not only atlantic related stuff.
Fix it by introducing a mutex that protects each NIC's macsec related
data, and locking it instead of the rtnl_lock from the service task and
the threaded IRQ.
Before this patch, all macsec data was protected with rtnl_lock, but
maybe not all of it needs to be protected. With this new mutex, further
efforts can be made to limit the protected data only to that which
requires it. However, probably it doesn't worth it because all macsec's
data accesses are infrequent, and almost all are done from macsec_ops
or ethtool callbacks, called holding rtnl_lock, so macsec_mutex won't
never be much contended.
The issue appeared repeteadly attaching and deattaching the NIC to a
bond interface. Doing that after this patch I cannot reproduce the bug.

aq_nic_deinit() has been called while suspending, so we don't have to call
it again on resume.
Actually, call it again leads to another hang issue when resuming from
S3.

Below commit claims that atlantic NIC requires to reset the device on pm
op, and had set the deep to true for all suspend/resume functions.
commit 1809c30b6e5a ("net: atlantic: always deep reset on pm op, fixing up my null deref regression")
So, we could remove deep parameter on suspend/resume functions without
any functional change.
