From 9200c6f177638909dbbaded8aeeeccbd48744400 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Rafał Miłecki Date: Thu, 9 Feb 2017 00:30:22 +0100 Subject: Revert "phy: Add USB3 PHY support for Broadcom NSP SoC" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit This reverts commit d7bc1a7d41bf ("phy: Add USB3 PHY support for Broadcom NSP SoC") as we already have driver for this PHY (shared by NS and NSP). It was added in commit e5666281d9ea ("phy: bcm-ns-usb3: new driver for USB 3.0 PHY on Northstar"). Instead of adding separated driver & duplicating code we should work on improving existing (old) one. Thanks to work done by Broadcom we know there is MDIO bus we weren't aware of & we know register names which makes initialization more clear. This is very valuable info and we should work on using it in existing driver afterwards. The generic config code manages to catch most of them, but in some cases it's not completely enough. The case at stake here is a USB 2.0 braille device, which wants to announce 10ms and thus sets bInterval to 10, but with the USB 2.0 computation that yields to 64ms. It happens that one can type fast enough to reach this interval and get the device buffers overflown, leading to problematic latencies. The generic config code does not catch this case because the 64ms is considered a sane enough value. This change thus adds a USB_QUIRK_LINEAR_FRAME_INTR_BINTERVAL quirk to mark devices which actually report milliseconds in bInterval, and marks Vario Ultra devices as needing it.
