2009-09-24sysctl: remove "struct file *" argument of ->proc_handlerAlexey Dobriyan1-14/+14
It's unused. It isn't needed -- read or write flag is already passed and sysctl shouldn't care about the rest. It _was_ used in two places at arch/frv for some reason. 2007-10-10[PATCH] dev->priv to netdev_priv(dev), for drivers/net/wirelessYoann Padioleau1-7/+7
Replacing accesses to dev->priv to netdev_priv(dev). The replacment is safe when netdev_priv is used to access a private structure that is right next to the net_device structure in memory. Cf http://groups.google.com/group/comp.os.linux.development.system/browse_thread/thread/de19321bcd94dbb8/0d74a4adcd6177bd This is the case when the net_device structure was allocated with a call to alloc_netdev or one of its derivative. 2007-02-14[PATCH] sysctl: remove insert_at_head from register_sysctlEric W. Biederman1-1/+1
The semantic effect of insert_at_head is that it would allow new registered sysctl entries to override existing sysctl entries of the same name. Which is pain for caching and the proc interface never implemented. I have done an audit and discovered that none of the current users of register_sysctl care as (excpet for directories) they do not register duplicate sysctl entries. So this patch simply removes the support for overriding existing entries in the sys_sysctl interface since no one uses it or cares and it makes future enhancments harder. Signed-off-by: Eric W. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
