The return value of i2c_smbus_read_byte_data() is checked in tmp401_init_client(), but only a warning is printed and the device is registered anyway. This leads to devices being registered even if they cannot be physically detected. Bail out from probe in case of write errors and notify the user. 2014-11-30hwmon: (ina2xx) bail-out from ina2xx_probe() in case of configuration errorsBartosz Golaszewski1-6/+20
The return value of i2c_smbus_write_word_swapped() isn't checked in ina2xx_probe(). This leads to devices being registered even if they cannot be physically detected (e.g. device is not powered-up at boot-time). Even after restoring power to such device, it is left unconfigured as the configuration has never been actually written to the register. Error out in case of write errors in probe and notify the user. The current driver probe() function assumes the sensor device to be always present and gets executed every time if the driver is loaded, but the appropriate hardware could not be present. So, move the platform device creation as part of platform init code and use the 'id_table' to check if the device is present or not. 2014-11-30hwmon: (pmbus) Add regulator supportAlan Tull3-0/+117
Add support for simple on/off control of each channel. To add regulator support, the pmbus part driver needs to add regulator_desc information and number of regulators to its pmbus_driver_info struct. regulator_desc can be declared using default macro for a regulator (PMBUS_REGULATOR) that is in pmbus.h The regulator_init_data can be initialized from either platform data or the device tree. 2014-11-27MIPS: tlbex: Fix potential HTW race on TLBL/M/S handlersLeonid Yegoshin1-1/+9
There is a potential race when probing the TLB in TLBL/M/S exception handlers for a matching entry. Between the time we hit a TLBL/S/M exception and the time we get to execute the TLBP instruction, the HTW may have replaced the TLB entry we are interested in hence the TLB probe may fail. However, in the existing handlers, we never checked the status of the TLBP (ie check the result in the C0/Index register). We fix this by adding such a check when the core implements the HTW. If we couldn't find a matching entry, we return back and try again. We cannot restart cacheflush safely if a process provides user-defined signal handler and signal is pending. In this case -EINTR is returned and it is expected that process re-invokes syscall. However, there are a few problems with that: * looks like nobody bothers checking return value from cacheflush * but if it did, we don't provide the restart address for that, so the process has to use the same range again * ...and again, what might lead to looping forever So, remove cacheflush restarting code and terminate cache flushing as early as fatal signal is pending. 2014-11-27ARM: 8222/1: mvebu: enable strex backoff delayThomas Petazzoni1-2/+0
Under extremely rare conditions, in an MPCore node consisting of at least 3 CPUs, two CPUs trying to perform a STREX to data on the same shared cache line can enter a livelock situation. This patch enables the HW mechanism that overcomes the bug. This fixes the incorrect setup of the STREX backoff delay bit due to a wrong description in the specification. Note that enabling the STREX backoff delay mechanism is done by leaving the bit *cleared*, while the bit was currently being set by the proc-v7.S code. The crazy gic_arch_extn thing that Tegra uses contains multiple references to the irq field in struct irq_data, and uses this to directly poke hardware register. But irq is the *virtual* irq number, something that has nothing to do with the actual HW irq (stored in the hwirq field).
