2012-03-18i915: Add and use pr_fmt and pr_<level>Joe Perches1-1/+3
Use a more current logging style. Ensure that appropriate logging messages are prefixed with "i915: ". Convert printks to pr_<level>. Align arguments. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch>
2011-09-19Drivers: i915: Fix all space related issues.Akshay Joshi1-45/+45
Various issues involved with the space character were generating warnings in the checkpatch.pl file. This patch removes most of those warnings. Signed-off-by: Akshay Joshi <me@akshayjoshi.com> Signed-off-by: Keith Packard <keithp@keithp.com>

2011-07-13i915: Fix opregion notificationsMatthew Garrett1-4/+11
opregion-based platforms will send ACPI video event 0x80 for a range of notification types for legacy compatibility. This is interpreted as a display switch event, which may not be appropriate in the circumstances. When we receive such an event we should make sure that the platform is genuinely requesting a display switch before passing that event through to userspace. 2011-01-24Merge branch 'drm-intel-fixes' into drm-intel-nextChris Wilson1-1/+2
Merge important suspend and resume regression fixes and resolve the small conflict. Conflicts: drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_dma.c
2011-01-24drm/i915: Use consistent mappings for OpRegion between ACPI and i915Michael Karcher1-1/+2
The opregion is a shared memory region between ACPI and the graphics driver. As the ACPI mapping has been changed to cachable in commit 6d5bbf00d251cc73223a71422d69e069dc2e0b8d, mapping the intel opregion non-cachable now fails. As no bus-master hardware is involved in the opregion, cachable map should do no harm. Tested on a Fujitsu Lifebook P8010. 2011-01-19drm/i915: Use ACPI OpRegion to determine lid statusChris Wilson1-0/+2
Admittedly, trusting ACPI or the BIOS at all to be correct is littered with numerous examples where it is wrong. Maybe, just maybe, we will have better luck using the ACPI OpRegion lid status... Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
2010-12-05drm/i915: Implement GPU semaphores for inter-ring synchronisation on SNBChris Wilson1-7/+1
The bulk of the change is to convert the growing list of rings into an array so that the relationship between the rings and the semaphore sync registers can be easily computed. Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
2010-11-01drm/i915: opregion_setup: iounmap correct addressChristoph Fritz1-1/+1
In case of an opregion signature mismatch in intel_opregion_setup(), iounmap the correct address. Signed-off-by: Christoph Fritz <chf.fritz@googlemail.com> Cc: stable@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
2010-09-08drm/i915: Refactor panel backlight controlsChris Wilson1-55/+6
There were two instances of code to control the panel backlight and neither handled the complete set of device variations. Fixes: Bug 29716 - [GM965] Regression: Backlight resets to minimum when changing resolution https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29716 And a bug on one of my PineView boxes which overflowed the backlight value. Incorporates part of a similar patch by Matthew Garrett that exposes a native Intel backlight controller. Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
2010-09-08drm/i915: Use the VBT from OpRegion when available (v3)Chris Wilson1-55/+58
It is recommended that we use the Video BIOS tables that were copied into the OpRegion during POST when initialising the driver. This saves us from having to furtle around inside the ROM ourselves and possibly allows the vBIOS to adjust the tables prior to initialisation. On some systems, such as the Samsung N210, there is no accessible VBIOS and the only means of finding the VBT is through the OpRegion. v2: Rearrange the code so that ASLE is enabled along with ACPI v3: Enable OpRegion parsing even without ACPI Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Cc: Matthew Garrett <mjg@redhat.com>
2010-09-08drm/i915: Rename i915_opregion.c to intel_opregion.cChris Wilson1-0/+563
It's part of the generic Intel driver infrastructure so rename it in prepreparation for using it for VBT. Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
