2014-08-07Nuke the old JIT.Rafael Espindola1-1/+0
I am sure we will be finding bits and pieces of dead code for years to come, but this is a good start. Thanks to Lang Hames for making MCJIT a good replacement! git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@215111 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
2014-03-06Replace OwningPtr<T> with std::unique_ptr<T>.Ahmed Charles1-1/+1
This compiles with no changes to clang/lld/lldb with MSVC and includes overloads to various functions which are used by those projects and llvm which have OwningPtr's as parameters. This should allow out of tree projects some time to move. There are also no changes to libs/Target, which should help out of tree targets have time to move, if necessary. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@203083 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

2010-01-27Kill ModuleProvider and ghost linkage by inverting the relationship betweenJeffrey Yasskin1-1/+0
Modules and ModuleProviders. Because the "ModuleProvider" simply materializes GlobalValues now, and doesn't provide modules, it's renamed to "GVMaterializer". Code that used to need a ModuleProvider to materialize Functions can now materialize the Functions directly. Functions no longer use a magic linkage to record that they're materializable; they simply ask the GVMaterializer. Because the C ABI must never change, we can't remove LLVMModuleProviderRef or the functions that refer to it. Instead, because Module now exposes the same functionality ModuleProvider used to, we store a Module* in any LLVMModuleProviderRef and translate in the wrapper methods. The bindings to other languages still use the ModuleProvider concept. It would probably be worth some time to update them to follow the C++ more closely, but I don't intend to do it. Fixes http://llvm.org/PR5737 and http://llvm.org/PR5735. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@94686 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

2008-08-23Switch the asmprinter (.ll) and all the stuff it requires over toChris Lattner1-7/+7
use raw_ostream instead of std::ostream. Among other goodness, this speeds up llvm-dis of kc++ with a release build from 0.85s to 0.49s (88% faster). Other interesting changes: 1) This makes Value::print be non-virtual. 2) AP[S]Int and ConstantRange can no longer print to ostream directly, use raw_ostream instead. 3) This fixes a bug in raw_os_ostream where it didn't flush itself when destroyed. 4) This adds a new SDNode::print method, instead of only allowing "dump". A lot of APIs have both std::ostream and raw_ostream versions, it would be useful to go through and systematically anihilate the std::ostream versions. This passes dejagnu, but there may be minor fallout, plz let me know if so and I'll fix it. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@55263 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
2008-08-17Rework the routines that convert AP[S]Int into a string. Now, instead ofChris Lattner1-1/+1
returning an std::string by value, it fills in a SmallString/SmallVector passed in. This significantly reduces string thrashing in some cases. More specifically, this: - Adds an operator<< and a print method for APInt that allows you to directly send them to an ostream. - Reimplements APInt::toString to be much simpler and more efficient algorithmically in addition to not thrashing strings quite as much. This speeds up llvm-dis on kc++ by 7%, and may also slightly speed up the asmprinter. This also fixes a bug I introduced into the asmwriter in a previous patch w.r.t. alias printing. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@54873 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

2005-10-23When a function takes a variable number of pointer arguments, with a zeroJeff Cohen1-1/+2
pointer marking the end of the list, the zero *must* be cast to the pointer type. An un-cast zero is a 32-bit int, and at least on x86_64, gcc will not extend the zero to 64 bits, thus allowing the upper 32 bits to be random junk. The new END_WITH_NULL macro may be used to annotate a such a function so that GCC (version 4 or newer) will detect the use of un-casted zero at compile time. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@23888 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
