2020-11-15drm/gma500: Remove 2D accel codePatrik Jakobsson8-319/+1

2020-11-06drm/<drivers>: Constify struct drm_driverDaniel Vetter1-2/+2
Only the following drivers aren't converted: - amdgpu, because of the driver_feature mangling due to virt support. Subsequent patch will address this. - nouveau, because DRIVER_ATOMIC uapi is still not the default on the platforms where it's supported (i.e. again driver_feature mangling) - vc4, again because of driver_feature mangling - qxl, because the ioctl table is somewhere else and moving that is maybe a bit too much, hence the num_ioctls assignment prevents a const driver structure. - arcpgu, because that is stuck behind a pending tiny-fication series from me. - legacy drivers, because legacy requires non-const drm_driver. Note that for armada I also went ahead and made the ioctl array const. Only cc'ing the driver people who've not been converted (everyone else is way too much). v2: Fix one misplaced const static, should be static const (0day) v3: - Improve commit message (Sam) Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Cc: kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com> Acked-by: Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org> Reviewed-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Cc: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Cc: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Cc: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Cc: virtualization@lists.linux-foundation.org Cc: Harry Wentland <harry.wentland@amd.com> Cc: Leo Li <sunpeng.li@amd.com> Cc: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com> Cc: Christian König <christian.koenig@amd.com> Cc: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net> Cc: Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org> Cc: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com> Cc: nouveau@lists.freedesktop.org Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20201104100425.1922351-5-daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch

2020-08-19drm: gma500: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij6-29/+49
Finalize he conversion of GMA500 to use only GPIO descriptors. The GPIO look-up-table is associated with the device directly in the GMA500 Medfield chip driver since no explicit platform type device (such as in x86/platform/intel-mid) exists: the GMA500 probes directly from the PCI device. Apparently GPIOs 128 and 34 are used on all of these so just go ahead and register those for resetting the DSI pipes. gma500 only uses mode->private_flags to convey the sdvo pixel multiplier from the encoder .mode_fixup() hook to the encoder .mode_set() hook. Those always seems get called as a pair so let's just stuff the pixel multiplier into the encoder itself as there are no state objects we could use in this non-atomic driver. 2020-03-18drm/gma500: Sanitize possible_clonesVille Syrjälä2-10/+10
I doubt the DP+DP and SDVO+SDVO cloning works for this driver. i915 at least doesn't do those. Truthfully there could be some very specific circumstances where some of them would do doable, but genereally it's too much pain to deal with so we've chose not to bother. Let's use the same approach for gma500. Also the LVDS+LVDS and DSI+DSI cases probably don't really exist as there is one of each at most. This does mean we'll now leave possible_clones at 0 for these encoder types whereas previosuly we included the encoder itself in the bitmask. But that's fine as the core now treaks 0 as a special case and adds the encoder itself into the final bitmask reported to userspace. 2020-03-06drm/gma500/intel_bios.h: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array memberGustavo A. R. Silva1-1/+1
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. 2019-12-14drm/gma500: Pass GPIO for Intel MID using descriptorsLinus Walleij1-55/+33
The GMA500 driver is using the legacy GPIO API to fetch three optional display control GPIO lines from the SFI description used by the Medfield platform. Switch this over to use GPIO descriptors and delete the custom platform data. We create three new static locals in the tc35876x bridge code but it is hardly any worse than the I2C client static local already there: I tried first to move it to the DRM driver state container but there are workarounds for probe order in the code so I just stayed off it, as the result is unpredictable. People wanting to do a more throrugh and proper cleanup of the GMA500 driver can work on top of this, I can't solve much more since I don't have access to the hardware, I can only attempt to tidy up my GPIO corner. 2019-11-19drm/gma500: Fixup fbdev stolen size usage evaluationPaul Kocialkowski1-2/+6
psbfb_probe performs an evaluation of the required size from the stolen GTT memory, but gets it wrong in two distinct ways: - The resulting size must be page-size-aligned; - The size to allocate is derived from the surface dimensions, not the fb dimensions. When two connectors are connected with different modes, the smallest will be stored in the fb dimensions, but the size that needs to be allocated must match the largest (surface) dimensions. This is what is used in the actual allocation code. Fix this by correcting the evaluation to conform to the two points above. It allows correctly switching to 16bpp when one connector is e.g. 1920x1080 and the other is 1024x768. 2019-11-07drm/gma500: Add page flip support on psb/cdvPaul Kocialkowski6-3/+72
Legacy (non-atomic) page flip support is added to the driver by using the mode_set_base CRTC function, that allows configuring a new framebuffer for display. Since the function requires the primary plane's fb to be set already, this is done prior to calling the function in the page flip helper and reverted if the flip fails. The vblank interrupt handler is also refactored to support passing an event. The PIPE_TE_STATUS bit is also considered to indicate vblank on medfield only, as explained in psb_enable_vblank. It was tested by running weston on both poulsbo and cedartrail. 2019-11-07drm/gma500: Add missing call to allow enabling vblank on psb/cdvPaul Kocialkowski1-0/+2
This adds a missing call to drm_crtc_vblank_on to the common DPMS helper (used by poulsbo and cedartrail), which is called in the CRTC enable path. With that call, it becomes possible to enable vblank when needed. It is already balanced by a drm_crtc_vblank_off call in the helper. Other platforms (oaktrail and medfield) use a dedicated DPMS helper that does not have the proper vblank on/off hooks. They are not added in this commit due to lack of hardware to test it with.
