# iXMicro

Mac-only series of 3D accelerators from Integrated Micro Systems, who later renamed themselves iXMicro. There appear to be only two iterations of this device:

* IMS Twin Turbo 128
* IMS Twin Turbo 3D
It is unclear how these two differ. They are probably standard boring queue-and-fire chips, but their feature set (multitexturing, etc.) is pretty much unknown.

iXMicro went out of business some time ago, but no one knows who bought their assets (if anyone). Apple would be the most likely candidate.

## Status

Supported for 2D in Xorg, but no 3D driver.

3D support was available in Mac OS. Someone with sufficient time, dedication, and familiarity with [[MacsBug|MacsBug]] could probably reverse-engineer the support.
