2014-04-17video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen1-915/+0
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch. 2013-01-03Drivers: video: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman1-9/+9
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-08-23drivers/video/bf537-lq035.c: use devm_ functionsDamien Cassou1-7/+5
The various devm_ functions allocate memory that is released when a driver detaches. This patch uses these functions for data that is allocated in the probe function of a platform device and is only freed in the remove function. 2012-01-28video: use gpio_request_oneJingoo Han1-9/+3
Using gpio_request_one can make the code simpler because it can set the direction and initial value in one shot. 2011-06-02fbdev: bf537-lq035: add missing blacklight properties typeSteven Miao1-0/+1
Seems this new field was missed, probably due to this driver being merged around the time this new backlight field was being added. At any rate, initial the type field to avoid ugly WARN() dumps. 2011-01-25drivers/video/bf537-lq035.c: Add missing IS_ERR testJulia Lawall1-25/+33
lcd_device_register may return ERR_PTR, so a check is added for this value before the dereference. All of the other changes reorganize the error handling code in this function to avoid duplicating all of it in the added case. In the original code, in one case, the global variable fb_buffer was set to NULL in error code that appears after this variable is initialized. This is done now in all error handling code that has this property. The semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @r@ identifier f; @@ f(...) { ... return ERR_PTR(...); } @@ identifier r.f, fld; expression x; statement S1,S2; @@ x = f(...) ... when != IS_ERR(x) ( if (IS_ERR(x) ||...) S1 else S2 | *x->fld ) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Acked-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
