2023-08-18mfd: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-06-15mfd: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2022-12-08mfd: rohm: Use dev_err_probe()Matti Vaittinen1-13/+8
The dev_err_probe() has (at least) following benefits over dev_err() when printing an error print for a failed function call at a device driver probe: - Omit error level print if error is 'EPRBE_DEFER' - Standardized print format for returned error - return the error value allowing shortening calls like: if (ret) { dev_err(...); return ret; } to if (ret) return dev_err_probe(...); Convert the ROHM BD71828, ROHM BD718x7 and ROHM BD9576 core drivers to use the dev_err_probe() when returned error is not hard-coded constant. 2022-12-07mfd: rohm-bd718x7: Convert to i2c's .probe_new()Uwe Kleine-König1-3/+2
The probe function doesn't make use of the i2c_device_id * parameter so it can be trivially converted. 2021-04-14mfd: bd718x7: simplify by cleaning unnecessary device dataMatti Vaittinen1-27/+16
Most ROHM PMIC sub-devices only use the regmap pointer from parent device. They can obtain this by dev_get_regamap so in most cases the MFD device does not need to allocate and populate the driver data. Simplify drivers by removing this. The BD70528 still needs the access to watchdog mutex so keep rohm_regmap_dev in use on BD70528 RTC and WDG drivers for now. 2020-01-24mfd: bd718x7: Add compatible for BD71850Matti Vaittinen1-0/+4
ROHM BD71850 PMIC is almost identical to BD71847. Main difference is some initial voltage values for regulators. The BD71850 can be handled by BD71847 driver but adding own compatible makes it clearer for one who creates the DT for board containing this PMIC and allows SW to be differentiating PMICs if needed. 2020-01-24mfd: Rohm PMICs: Use platform_device_id to match MFD sub-devicesMatti Vaittinen1-7/+32
Thanks to Stephen Boyd I today learned we can use platform_device_id to do device and module matching for MFD sub-devices! Do device matching using the platform_device_id instead of using explicit module_aliases to load modules and custom parent-data field to do module loading and sub-device matching. 2019-07-02mfd: bd718x7: Make power button press duration configurableLeonard Crestez1-0/+42
Allow overwriting the values in BD718XX_REG_PWRONCONFIG0 and BD718XX_REG_PWRONCONFIG1 via devicetree. Read values in milliseconds and attempt to round them to something supported by the hardware. Keep existing values (from bootloader or OTP) if property is not present. 2019-07-02mfd: bd718x7: Remove hardcoded config for button press durationLeonard Crestez1-23/+0
The reset button on imx8mm-evk is tied to PWRON_B pin of bd71847 and the long press duration is set to zero from OTP. The linux driver overrides those values and breaks reset from button. Overwriting OTP or bootloader configuration with some hardcoded defaults is not desirable, keep already programmed values instead.
