2017-05-19[media] media drivers: annotate fall-throughMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
Avoid warnings like those: drivers/media/pci/ddbridge/ddbridge-core.c: In function 'dvb_input_detach': drivers/media/pci/ddbridge/ddbridge-core.c:787:6: warning: this statement may fall through [-Wimplicit-fallthrough=] if (input->fe) { ^ drivers/media/pci/ddbridge/ddbridge-core.c:792:2: note: here case 4: ^~~~ ... On several cases, it is just that gcc 7.1 is not capable of understanding the comment, but on other places, we need an annotation. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2016-11-18[media] dvb_frontend: tuner_ops.release returns voidMax Kellermann1-3/+1
It is not clear what this return value means. All implemenations return 0, and the one caller ignores the value. Let's remove this useless return value completely. Signed-off-by: Max Kellermann <max.kellermann@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2016-10-21[media] tuners: don't break long linesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+1
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. The patch was generated via the script below, and manually adjusted if needed. </script> use Text::Tabs; while (<>) { if ($next ne "") { $c=$_; if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) { $c2=$1; $next =~ s/\"\n$//; $n = expand($next); $funpos = index($n, '('); $pos = index($c2, '",'); if ($funpos && $pos > 0) { $s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2; $s2 =~ s/^\s+//; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne ""); print unexpand("$next$s1\n"); print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne ""); } else { print "$next$c2\n"; } $next=""; next; } else { print $next; } $next=""; } else { if (m/\"$/) { if (!m/\\n\"$/) { $next=$_; next; } } } print $_; } </script> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2016-09-05[media] tda18271: use prefix on all printk messagesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-5/+6
Some messages have a hardcoded prefix; others not. Use the pr_fmt() to ensure that all messages will use the same prefix. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2014-12-22[media] media: remove emacs editor variablesHans Verkuil1-8/+0
1) This is not allowed by the kernel coding style 2) Just configure your editor correctly 3) It's really ugly Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Acked-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>
2013-04-08[media] tda8290: change magic LNA config values to enumOndrej Zary1-4/+5
Use enum instead of magic values for LNA config in tda8290. Update tda827x, tda18271 and saa7134 to use the enum too. Signed-off-by: Ondrej Zary <linux@rainbow-software.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2012-12-18[media] tda18271: add missing entries for qam_7 to tda18271_update_std_map() ↵Frank Schäfer1-0/+2

2012-10-02[media] tda18271: properly report read errors in tda18271_get_idMichael Krufky1-1/+9
Until now, if there is a read error in tda18271_get_id, the driver reports "Unknown device..." Instead, check the return value of tda18271_read_regs and display the appropriate error message. 2012-10-02[media] tda18271: delay IR & RF calibration until init() if delay_cal is setMichael Krufky1-0/+5
if the configuration option 'delay_cal' is set, delay both IR & RF calibration until init() is called. both module option 'cal' or configuration option 'rf_cal_on_startup' will override this delay. it makes no sense to mix 'delay_cal' with 'rf_cal_on_startup' as these options conflict with each other. 2012-10-01[media] tda18271: make 'low-power standby mode after attach' multi-instance safeMichael Krufky1-3/+4
Ensure that unnecessary features are powered down at the end of the attach() function on attach of the tuner's first instance. If the configuration requires the loop thru or xtout features, they will remain enabled. This must *only* be done after attaching the first instance of the tuner. If there are multiple instances of the tuner, the bridge driver will need to maintain power managament by itself. 2012-10-01[media] tda18271: enter low-power standby mode at the end of tda18271_attach()Michael Krufky1-0/+3
Ensure that unnecessary features are powered down at the end of the attach() function. If the configuration requires the loop thru or xtout features, they will remain enabled. Thanks to Antti Palosaari for noticing the additional power consumption. Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2012-08-13[media] common: move media/common/tuners to media/tunersMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+1345
Move the tuners one level up, as the "common" directory will be used by drivers that are shared between more than one driver. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
