2017-05-24dmaengine: pl08x: Add support for Faraday Technology FTDMAC020Linus Walleij1-1/+82
After reading the specs for the Faraday Technology FTDMAC020 found in the Gemini platform, it becomes pretty evident that this is just another PL08x derivative, and should be handled like such by simply extending the existing PL08x driver to handle the quirks in this hardware. This patch makes memcpy work and has been tested on the Gemini and also regression-tested on the Nomadik NHK15 using dmatest with 10 threads per channel without a hinch for hours. I have not implemented slave DMA in those codepaths, because this device (Gemini) does not use slave DMA, and it seems like devices using FTDMAC020 for device DMA have a slightly different register layout so some real hardware is needed to proceed with this. I left some FIXME etc in the code for this. I had to do some refactorings of some helper functions, but I have not split those into separate patches because these refactorings do not make much sense without the increased complexity of handling the FTDMAC020. The DMA test would hang the platform on me on the Gemini after a few thousand iterations, however after turning of the caches the problem immediately disappeared and I could run the DMA engine with 10 threads pers physical channel for days in a row without a crash. I think there is no problem with the DMA driver: instead it is something fishy in the FA526 cache handling code that get pretty heavily exercised by the DMA engine and we need to go and fix that instead. 2017-05-24ARM/dmaengine: pl08x: pass reasonable memcpy settingsLinus Walleij1-4/+26
We cannot use bits from configuration registers as API between platforms and driver like this, abstract it out to two enums and mimic the stuff passed as device tree data. This is done to make it possible for the driver to generate the ccfg word on-the-fly so we can support more PL08x derivatives. 2016-08-31tty: amba-pl011: probe ZTE device from AMBA bus with a pseudo-IDShawn Guo1-0/+6
There is no Peripheral Identification Registers on ZTE PL011 device, so although the driver amba-pl011 is ready to work for ZTE device, the device cannot be probed by the driver at all. With arm,primecell-periphid DT bindings (bindings/arm/primecell.txt) in place, it should be the cleanest the way to use a pseudo-ID to probe the device from AMBA bus. We create an unofficial vendor number AMBA_VENDOR_LINUX, which will practically never become an official vendor ID, and takes Configuration, Revision number, and Part number as input to compose a pseudo-ID for ZTE device. Also, since we start using vendor_zte to probe ZTE device, the __maybe_unused for vendor_zte is removed. 2016-08-31tty: amba-pl011: define flag register bits for ZTE deviceShawn Guo1-0/+9

2016-08-11video: ARM CLCD: support Nomadik variantLinus Walleij1-0/+42
The Nomadik variant has a few special quirks that need to be respected to make the driver work: - The block need to be clocked during writing of the TIMn registers or the bus will stall. - Special bits in the control register select how many of the output display lines get activated. - Special bits in the control register select how to manage the different 565 and 5551 modes. - There is a packed 24bit graphics mode, i.e 888 pixels can be stored in memory is three consecutive bytes, not evenly aligned to a 32bit word. This patch uses the vendor data pointer from the AMBA matching mechanism to track the quirks for this variant, and adds two hooks that variants can use to initialize boards and panels during start-up. These will later be used to adopt a Nomadik board profile. There are CLCDs connected with the pads in BGR rather than RGB order. It really doesn't matter since the CLCD has a flag and a bit to switch the position of the RGB and BGR components. This is needed to put something logical into the arm,pl11x,tft-r0g0b0-pads property of the device tree on the Nomadik which will then be <16 8 0>. 2016-04-05dmaengine: pl08x: allocate OF slave channel data at probe timeLinus Walleij1-1/+1
The current OF translation of channels can never work with any DMA client using the DMA channels directly: the only way to get the channels initialized properly is in the dma_async_device_register() call, where chan->dev etc is allocated and initialized. 2016-02-20drivers/hwtracing: make coresight-* explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker1-0/+9
None of the Kconfig currently controlling compilation of any of the files here are tristate, meaning that none of it currently is being built as a module by anyone. We need not be concerned about .remove functions and blocking the unbind sysfs operations, since that was already done in a recent commit. Lets remove any remaining modular references, so that when reading the drivers there is no doubt they are builtin-only. All drivers get mostly the same changes, so they are handled in batch. Changes are (1) convert to builtin_amba_driver, (2) delete module.h include where unused, and (3) relocate the description into the comments so we don't need MODULE_DESCRIPTION and associated tags. The etm3x and etm4x use module_param_named, and have been adjusted to just include moduleparam.h for that purpose. In commit f309d4443130bf814e991f836e919dca22df37ae ("platform_device: better support builtin boilerplate avoidance") we introduced the builtin_driver macro. Here we use that support and extend it to amba driver registration, so where a driver is clearly non-modular and builtin-only, we can update with the simple mapping of module_amba_driver(...) ---> builtin_amba_driver(...) Since module_amba_driver() uses the same init level priority as builtin_amba_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. 2014-11-07coresight: add CoreSight core layer frameworkPratik Patel1-0/+1
CoreSight components are compliant with the ARM CoreSight architecture specification and can be connected in various topologies to suit a particular SoC tracing needs. These trace components can generally be classified as sources, links and sinks. Trace data produced by one or more sources flows through the intermediate links connecting the source to the currently selected sink. The CoreSight framework provides an interface for the CoreSight trace drivers to register themselves with. It's intended to build up a topological view of the CoreSight components and configure the correct serie of components on user input via sysfs. For eg., when enabling a source, the framework builds up a path consisting of all the components connecting the source to the currently selected sink(s) and enables all of them. The framework also supports switching between available sinks and provides status information to user space applications through the debugfs interface. 2014-09-24spi: pl022: Add support for chip select extensionAnders Berg1-0/+5
Add support for a extended PL022 which has an extra register for controlling up to five chip select signals. This controller is found on the AXM5516 SoC. Unfortunately the PrimeCell identification registers are identical to a standard ARM PL022. To work around this, the peripheral ID must be overridden in the device tree using the "arm,primecell-periphid" property with the value 0x000b6022. Pull ARM updates from Russell King: "Included in this series are: 1. BE8 (modern big endian) changes for ARM from Ben Dooks 2. big.Little support from Nicolas Pitre and Dave Martin 3. support for LPAE systems with all system memory above 4GB 4. Perf updates from Will Deacon 5. Additional prefetching and other performance improvements from Will. 6. Neon-optimised AES implementation fro Ard. 7. A number of smaller fixes scattered around the place. There is a rather horrid merge conflict in tools/perf - I was never notified of the conflict because it originally occurred between Will's tree and other stuff. Consequently I have a resolution which Will forwarded me, which I'll forward on immediately after sending this mail. The other notable thing is I'm expecting some build breakage in the crypto stuff on ARM only with Ard's AES patches. These were merged into a stable git branch which others had already pulled, so there's little I can do about this. The problem is caused because these patches have a dependency on some code in the crypto git tree - I tried requesting a branch I can pull to resolve these, and all I got each time from the crypto people was "we'll revert our patches then" which would only make things worse since I still don't have the dependent patches. I've no idea what's going on there or how to resolve that, and since I can't split these patches from the rest of this pull request, I'm rather stuck with pushing this as-is or reverting Ard's patches. Since it should "come out in the wash" I've left them in - the only build problems they seem to cause at the moment are with randconfigs, and since it's a new feature anyway. However, if by -rc1 the dependencies aren't in, I think it'd be best to revert Ard's patches" I resolved the perf conflict roughly as per the patch sent by Russell, but there may be some differences. Any errors are likely mine. As pointed out by Arnd Bergmann there is a get_signal macro definied in linux/signal.h which can conflict with the platform data callback function of the same name leading to confusing errors from the compiler (especially if signal.h manages to get pulled into the driver itself due to header dependencies). Avoid such errors by renaming get_signal and put_signal in the platform data to get_xfer_signal and put_xfer_signal.
