The set/clear of the otg control values is done writing to two different 16bit registers, however we setup the regmap width for isp1760/61 to 32bit value bits. So, just access the clear register address (0x376)as the high part of the otg control register set (0x374), and write the values in one go to make sure they get clear/set. This indicates that problem is coming from the feedback endpoint, which is only used with async synchronization mode. The problem is that request is freed regardless of usb_ep_dequeue(), which ends up badly if the request is not actually dequeued yet. Update the feedback endpoint free function to release the endpoint the same way it is done for the data endpoint, which takes care of the problem. 2021-08-27usb: xhci-mtk: allow bandwidth table rolloverChunfeng Yun2-39/+18
xhci-mtk has 64 slots for periodic bandwidth calculations and each slot represents byte budgets on a microframe. When an endpoint's allocation sits on the boundary of the table, byte budgets' slot can be rolled over but the current implementation doesn't. This patch allows the microframe index rollover and prevent out-of-bounds array access. 2021-08-26usb: typec: tcpm: Raise vdm_sm_running flag only when VDM SM is runningKyle Tso1-43/+38
If the port is going to send Discover_Identity Message, vdm_sm_running flag was intentionally set before entering Ready States in order to avoid the conflict because the port and the port partner might start AMS at almost the same time after entering Ready States. However, the original design has a problem. When the port is doing DR_SWAP from Device to Host, it raises the flag. Later in the tcpm_send_discover_work, the flag blocks the procedure of sending the Discover_Identity and it might never be cleared until disconnection. Since there exists another flag send_discover representing that the port is going to send Discover_Identity or not, it is enough to use that flag to prevent the conflict. Also change the timing of the set/clear of vdm_sm_running to indicate whether the VDM SM is actually running or not. 2021-08-26usb: renesas-xhci: Prefer firmware loading on unknown ROM stateTakashi Iwai1-12/+23
The recent attempt to handle an unknown ROM state in the commit d143825baf15 ("usb: renesas-xhci: Fix handling of unknown ROM state") resulted in a regression and reverted later by the commit 44cf53602f5a ("Revert "usb: renesas-xhci: Fix handling of unknown ROM state""). The problem of the former fix was that it treated the failure of firmware loading as a fatal error. Since the firmware files aren't included in the standard linux-firmware tree, most users don't have them, hence they got the non-working system after that. The revert fixed the regression, but also it didn't make the firmware loading triggered even on the devices that do need it. So we need still a fix for them. This is another attempt to handle the unknown ROM state. Like the previous fix, this also tries to load the firmware when ROM shows unknown state. In this patch, however, the failure of a firmware loading (such as a missing firmware file) isn't handled as a fatal error any longer when ROM has been already detected, but it falls back to the ROM mode like before. The error is returned only when no ROM is detected and the firmware loading failed. Along with it, for simplifying the code flow, the detection and the check of ROM is factored out from renesas_fw_check_running() and done in the caller side, renesas_xhci_check_request_fw(). It avoids the redundant ROM checks. The patch was tested on Lenovo Thinkpad T14 gen (BIOS 1.34). Also it was confirmed that no regression is seen on another Thinkpad T14 machine that has worked without the patch, too. 2021-08-26usb: dwc3: gadget: Stop EP0 transfers during pullup disableWesley Cheng1-4/+3
During a USB cable disconnect, or soft disconnect scenario, a pending SETUP transaction may not be completed, leading to the following error: dwc3 a600000.dwc3: timed out waiting for SETUP phase If this occurs, then the entire pullup disable routine is skipped and proper cleanup and halting of the controller does not complete. Instead of returning an error (which is ignored from the UDC perspective), allow the pullup disable routine to continue, which will also handle disabling of EP0/1. This will end any active transfers as well. Ensure to clear any delayed_status also, as the timeout could happen within the STATUS stage. 2021-08-26usb: dwc3: gadget: Fix dwc3_calc_trbs_left()Thinh Nguyen1-8/+8
We can't depend on the TRB's HWO bit to determine if the TRB ring is "full". A TRB is only available when the driver had processed it, not when the controller consumed and relinquished the TRB's ownership to the driver. Otherwise, the driver may overwrite unprocessed TRBs. This can happen when many transfer events accumulate and the system is slow to process them and/or when there are too many small requests. If a request is in the started_list, that means there is one or more unprocessed TRBs remained. Check this instead of the TRB's HWO bit whether the TRB ring is full. 2021-08-26usb: xhci-mtk: Do not use xhci's virt_dev in drop_endpointChunfeng Yun2-51/+60
xhci-mtk depends on xhci's internal virt_dev when it retrieves its internal data from usb_host_endpoint both in add_endpoint and drop_endpoint callbacks. But when setup packet was retired by transaction errors in xhci_setup_device() path, a virt_dev for the slot is newly created with real_port 0. This leads to xhci-mtks's NULL pointer dereference from drop_endpoint callback as xhci-mtk assumes that virt_dev's real_port is always started from one. The similar problems were addressed by [1] but that can't cover the failure cases from setup_device. This patch drops the usages of xhci's virt_dev in xhci-mtk's drop_endpoint callback by adopting hashtable for searching mtk's schedule entity from a given usb_host_endpoint pointer instead of searching a linked list. So mtk's drop_endpoint callback doesn't have to rely on virt_dev at all. 2021-08-26usb: xhci-mtk: modify the SOF/ITP interval for mt8195Chunfeng Yun1-0/+65
There are 4 USB controllers on MT8195, the controllers (IP1~IP3, exclude IP0) have a wrong default SOF/ITP interval which is calculated from the frame counter clock 24Mhz by default, but in fact, the frame counter clock is 48Mhz, so we should set the accurate interval according to 48Mhz for those controllers. Note: the first controller no need set it. 2021-08-26usb: bdc: Fix a resource leak in the error handling path of 'bdc_probe()'Christophe JAILLET1-14/+13
If an error occurs after a successful 'clk_prepare_enable()' call, it must be undone by a corresponding 'clk_disable_unprepare()' call. This call is already present in the remove function. Add this call in the error handling path and reorder the code so that the 'clk_prepare_enable()' call happens later in the function. The goal is to have as much managed resources functions as possible before the 'clk_prepare_enable()' call in order to keep the error handling path simple. While at it, remove the now unneeded 'clk' variable. I find the patch introduce some issues, e.g. 1. oops happens when xhci_gen_setup() failed, and hash is not init but try to destroy it; 2. memory leakage happens when fail to insert ep, need free sch_ep, or insert ep after insert int list; 3. memory leakage happens when fail to allocate sch_array, need destroy rhashtable; 4. it's better to check ep->hcpriv when drop ep; so prefer to revert this patch, and resend it after the issues are fixed. 2021-08-26usbip:vhci_hcd USB port can get stuck in the disabled stateShuah Khan1-1/+7
When a remote usb device is attached to the local Virtual USB Host Controller Root Hub port, the bound device driver may send a port reset command. vhci_hcd accepts port resets only when the device doesn't have port address assigned to it. When reset happens device is in assigned/used state and vhci_hcd rejects it leaving the port in a stuck state. This problem was found when a blue-tooth or xbox wireless dongle was passed through using usbip. A few drivers reset the port during probe including mt76 driver specific to this bug report. Fix the problem with a change to honor reset requests when device is in used state (VDEV_ST_USED). In vhci_device_unlink_cleanup(), the URBs for unsent unlink requests are not given back. This sometimes causes usb_kill_urb to wait indefinitely for that urb to be given back. syzbot has reported a hung task issue [1] for this. To fix this, give back the urbs corresponding to unsent unlink requests (unlink_tx list) similar to how urbs corresponding to unanswered unlink requests (unlink_rx list) are given back. ehci_orion_drv_probe() did not account for possible errors of clk_prepare_enable() that in particular could cause invocation of clk_disable_unprepare() on clocks that were not prepared/enabled yet, e.g. in remove or on handling errors of usb_add_hcd() in probe. Though, there were several patches fixing different issues with clocks in this driver, they did not solve this problem. Add handling of errors of clk_prepare_enable() in ehci_orion_drv_probe() to avoid calls of clk_disable_unprepare() without previous successful invocation of clk_prepare_enable().
