2012-04-12iwlwifi: move eeprom into privJohannes Berg1-7/+7
The whole code around eeprom is distributed across whole bunch of different files, most of which belong to the to-be-DVM code. As a result, it is currently very hard to split out the EEPROM code to be generic. However, it is also quite unlikely that the current EEPROM code will be needed by the MVM code as that has different mechanisms to query the EEPROM (it does so through the uCode.) So, at least temporarily, move everything into priv. If it becomes necessary to use the code from MVM, we will have to split it out, but then it's also easier since we'll know what pieces we need. There's no SKU override, we always just use it from EEPROM. As such, we can remove it from the config and use it in hw_param only. Since iwl_eeprom_check_sku() really needs to fill it in also rename that to iwl_eeprom_init_hw_params(). There are a number of things in the driver that may result in a BUG(), which is suboptimal since it's hard to get debugging information out of the driver in that case and the user experience is also not good :-) Almost all BUG_ON instances can be converted to WARN_ON with a few lines of appropriate error handling, so do that instead. The current EEPROM reading code has some layout assumptions that now turned out to be false with some newer versions of the EEPROM. Luckily, we can avoid all such assumptions by using data in the EEPROM itself, so implement using that. However, for risk mitigation purposes, keep the old reading code for current hardware for now. 2009-12-21iwlwifi: fix more eeprom endian bugsJohannes Berg1-2/+2
I've also for a long time had a problem with the temperature calculation code, which I had fixed by byte-swapping the values, and now it turns out that was the correct fix after all. Also, any use of iwl_eeprom_query_addr() that is for more than a u8 must be cast to little endian, and some structs as well. Fix all this. Again, no real impact on platforms that already are little endian.
