2009-05-29mac8390: fix build with NET_POLL_CONTROLLERFinn Thain1-1/+1
Fix the build for CONFIG_NET_POLL_CONTROLLER that I broke with 217cbfa856dc1cbc2890781626c4032d9e3ec59f ("mac8390: fix regression caused during net_device_ops conversion"). Signed-off-by: Finn Thain <fthain@telegraphics.com.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-05-25mac8390: fix regression caused during net_device_ops conversionFinn Thain1-5/+5
Changeset ca17584bf2ad1b1e37a5c0e4386728cc5fc9dabc ("mac8390: update to net_device_ops") broke mac8390 by adding 8390.o to the link. That meant that lib8390.c was included twice, once in mac8390.c and once in 8390.c, subject to different macros. This patch reverts that by avoiding the wrappers in 8390.c. They seem to be of no value since COMPAT_NET_DEV_OPS is going away soon. Tested with a Kinetics EtherPort card. Signed-off-by: Finn Thain <fthain@telegraphics.com.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-01-11netdev: add missing set_mac_address hookStephen Hemminger1-0/+1
Many drivers lost the ability to set ethernet address accidently during the net_device_ops conversion. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-12-02mac8390: update to net_device_opsStephen Hemminger1-6/+16
Another related 8390 driver. Since this is for nubus, not sure if anyone still has the hardware? Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-06-11drivers/net/mac8390.c: make functions staticAdrian Bunk1-5/+3
This patch makes the following needlessly global functions static: - mac8390_ident() - mac8390_testio() - mac8390_memsize() Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
2007-10-10[NET]: Nuke SET_MODULE_OWNER macro.Ralf Baechle1-2/+0
It's been a useless no-op for long enough in 2.6 so I figured it's time to remove it. The number of people that could object because they're maintaining unified 2.4 and 2.6 drivers is probably rather small. [ Handled drivers added by netdev tree and some missed IRDA cases... -DaveM ] Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2005-11-09[PATCH] changing CONFIG_LOCALVERSION rebuilds too much, for no good reasonOlaf Hering1-1/+0
This patch removes almost all inclusions of linux/version.h. The 3 #defines are unused in most of the touched files. A few drivers use the simple KERNEL_VERSION(a,b,c) macro, which is unfortunatly in linux/version.h. There are also lots of #ifdef for long obsolete kernels, this was not touched. In a few places, the linux/version.h include was move to where the LINUX_VERSION_CODE was used. quilt vi `find * -type f -name "*.[ch]"|xargs grep -El '(UTS_RELEASE|LINUX_VERSION_CODE|KERNEL_VERSION|linux/version.h)'|grep -Ev '(/(boot|coda|drm)/|~$)'` search pattern: /UTS_RELEASE\|LINUX_VERSION_CODE\|KERNEL_VERSION\|linux\/\(utsname\|version\).h Signed-off-by: Olaf Hering <olh@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
