2016-09-08hwmon: (iio_hwmon) defer probe when no channel is foundQuentin Schulz1-1/+4
iio_channel_get_all returns -ENODEV when it cannot find either phandles and properties in the Device Tree or channels whose consumer_dev_name matches iio_hwmon in iio_map_list. The iio_map_list is filled in by iio drivers which might be probed after iio_hwmon. It is better to defer the probe of iio_hwmon if such error is returned by iio_channel_get_all in order to let a chance to iio drivers to expose channels in iio_map_list. 2016-07-31hwmon: (iio_hwmon) fix memory leak in name attributeQuentin Schulz1-12/+12
The "name" variable's memory is now freed when the device is destructed thanks to devm function. 2016-03-05hwmon: (iio_hwmon) Allow the driver to accept hypen in device tree node namesSanchayan Maity1-1/+10
Currently the driver calls hwmon_device_register_with_groups which does not accept hypen in node name and returns EINVAL. Use of hypen in device tree node name results in probe failure., however use of hypen in device tree node name is perfectly acceptable. Change this by allocating a duplicate managed string, replacing hypen with underscore and then calling hwmon_device_register_with_groups. This allows the use of hypen in device tree node name while maintaining backwards compatibility and preventing any possible regressions with user space. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core Pull driver core update from Greg KH: "Here's the set of driver core patches for 3.19-rc1. They are dominated by the removal of the .owner field in platform drivers. They touch a lot of files, but they are "simple" changes, just removing a line in a structure. Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There are some ath9k patches coming in through this tree that have been acked by the wireless maintainers as they relied on the debugfs changes. 2014-11-30hwmon: (iio_hwmon) Add support for humidity sensorsGuenter Roeck1-1/+6
The iio subsystem supports humidity sensors, so it makes sense to support it in the iio-hwmon bridge as well. Cc: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org> Acked-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>

2013-03-23hwmon: Move the IIO client driver for hwmon out of stagingJonathan Cameron1-0/+196
This driver uses channel maps, defined either through device tree or platform data, to create a hwmon driver which acts as a client for the underlying IIO device channels. Thus a general purpose IIO adc driver can be used to provide hardware monitoring using a subset of its channels. Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org> Acked-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> -- The only non move changes here concern the description and changes to the dependencies to IIO explicit and hwmon implicit. I'm proposing moving this into hwmon on the basis of placing drivers based on what they provide rather than what their underlying hardware is. drivers/hwmon/Kconfig | 9 ++ drivers/hwmon/Makefile | 1 + drivers/hwmon/iio_hwmon.c | 196 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ drivers/staging/iio/Kconfig | 8 -- drivers/staging/iio/Makefile | 2 - drivers/staging/iio/iio_hwmon.c | 196 ---------------------------------------- 6 files changed, 206 insertions(+), 206 deletions(-)
