2009-09-24powerpc: Change archdata dma_data to a unionBecky Bruce1-1/+1
Sometimes this is used to hold a simple offset, and sometimes it is used to hold a pointer. This patch changes it to a union containing void * and dma_addr_t. get/set accessors are also provided, because it was getting a bit ugly to get to the actual data. A recent change to the xilinx interrupt controller removed the ack hook for level irqs. 2009-08-30powerpc/qe: Implement qe_alive_during_sleep() helper functionAnton Vorontsov1-0/+13
In some CPUs (i.e. MPC8569) QE shuts down completely during sleep, drivers may want to know that to reinitialize registers and buffer descriptors. This patch implements qe_alive_during_sleep() helper function, so far it just checks if MPC8569-compatible power management controller is present, which is a sign that QE turns off during sleep. 2009-08-24powerpc/85xx: issue fsl_soc reboot warning only when applicablePaul Gortmaker1-2/+4
Some CPU, like the MPC8560 don't have a RSTCR in the Global Utilities Block. These boards will implement their own reboot call, and not use this code, so we should only warn about the absence of the GUTS RSTCR when the default reboot code is used. 2009-08-20powerpc/ipic: unmask all interrupt sourcesSebastian Andrzej Siewior1-0/+3
in case the interrupt controller was used in an earlier life then it is possible it is that some of its sources were used and are still unmask. If the (unmasked) device is active and is creating interrupts (or one interrupts was pending since the interrupts were disabled) then the boot process "ends" very soon. Once external interrupts are enabled, we land in -> do_IRQ -> call ppc_md.get_irq() -> ipic_read() gets the source number -> irq_linear_revmap(source) -> revmap[source] == NO_IRQ -> irq_find_mapping(source) returns NO_IRQ because no source is registered -> source is NO_IRQ, ppc_spurious_interrupts gets incremented, no further action. 2009-08-20powerpc/mpic: Fix MPIC_BROKEN_REGREAD on non broken MPICsMichael Ellerman1-5/+8
The workaround enabled by CONFIG_MPIC_BROKEN_REGREAD does not work on non-broken MPICs. The symptom is no interrupts being received. The fix is twofold. Firstly the code was broken for multiple isus, we need to index into the shadow array with the src_no, not the idx. Secondly, we always do the read, but only use the VECPRI_MASK and VECPRI_ACTIVITY bits from the hardware, the rest of "val" comes from the shadow. 2009-06-26powerpc/mpic: Fix mapping of "DCR" based MPIC variantsBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-13/+16
Commit 31207dab7d2e63795eb15823947bd2f7025b08e2 "Fix incorrect allocation of interrupt rev-map" introduced a regression crashing on boot on machines using a "DCR" based MPIC, such as the Cell blades. The reason is that the irq host data structure is initialized much later as a result of that patch, causing our calls to mpic_map() do be done before we have a host setup. Unfortunately, this breaks _mpic_map_dcr() which uses the mpic->irqhost to get to the device node. This fixes it by, instead, passing the device node explicitely to mpic_map(). 2009-06-23powerpc/qe: add polling timeout to qe_issue_cmd()Timur Tabi1-3/+6
The qe_issue_cmd() function (Freescale PowerPC QUICC Engine library) polls on a register until a status bit changes, but does not include a timeout to handle the situation if the bit never changes. Change the code to use the new spin_event_timeout() macro, which simplifies polling on a register without a timeout. 2009-06-17powerpc/5xxx: Add common mpc5xxx_get_bus_frequency() functionWolfgang Denk2-0/+36
So far, MPC512x used mpc512x_find_ips_freq() to get the bus frequency, while MPC52xx used mpc52xx_find_ipb_freq(). Despite the different clock names (IPS vs. IPB) the code was identical. 2009-06-16powerpc: Add configurable -Werror for arch/powerpcMichael Ellerman1-0/+2
Add the option to build the code under arch/powerpc with -Werror. The intention is to make it harder for people to inadvertantly introduce warnings in the arch/powerpc code. It needs to be configurable so that if a warning is introduced, people can easily work around it while it's being fixed. The option is a negative, ie. don't enable -Werror, so that it will be turned on for allyes and allmodconfig builds. The default is n, in the hope that developers will build with -Werror, that will probably lead to some build breaks, I am prepared to be flamed. 2009-05-22block: Do away with the notion of hardsect_sizeMartin K. Petersen1-1/+1
Until now we have had a 1:1 mapping between storage device physical block size and the logical block sized used when addressing the device. With SATA 4KB drives coming out that will no longer be the case. The sector size will be 4KB but the logical block size will remain 512-bytes. Previouslly we just always set the inbound window to 2G. This was broken for systems with >2G. If a system has >=4G we will need SWIOTLB support to handle that case. We now allocate PCICSRBAR/PEXCSRBAR right below the lowest PCI outbound address for MMIO or the 4G boundary (if the lowest PCI address is above 4G). 2009-05-19powerpc/qe: update QE Serial NumberHaiying Wang1-4/+43
The latest QE chip may have more Serial Number(SNUM)s of thread to use. We will get the number of SNUMs from device tree by reading the new property "fsl,qe-num-snums", and set 28 as the default number of SNUMs so that it is compatible with the old QE chips' device trees which don't have this new property. The macro QE_NUM_OF_SNUM is defined as the maximum number in QE snum table which is 256. Also we update the snum_init[] array with 18 more new SNUMs which are confirmed to be useful on new chip. 2009-05-19powerpc: make dma_window_* in pci_controller struct avail on 32bBecky Bruce1-0/+4
Also, convert them to resource_size_t (which is unsigned long on 64-bit, so it's not a change there). We will be using these on fsl 32b to indicate the start and size address of memory that the pci controller can actually reach - this is needed to determine if an address requires bounce buffering. For now, initialize them to a standard value; in the near future, the value will be calculated based on how the inbound windows are programmed. 2009-05-15powerpc/mpic: Fix incorrect allocation of interrupt rev-mapKumar Gala1-7/+9
Before when we were setting up the irq host map for mpic we passed in just isu_size for the size of the linear map. However, for a number of mpic implementations we have no isu (thus pass in 0) and will end up with a no linear map (size = 0). This causes us to always call irq_find_mapping() from mpic_get_irq(). By moving the allocation of the host map to after we've determined the number of sources we can actually benefit from having a linear map for the non-isu users that covers all the interrupt sources.
