Port starts to toggle when transitioning to unattached state. This is incorrect while in BIST mode. 6.4.3.1 BIST Carrier Mode Upon receipt of a BIST Message, with a BIST Carrier Mode BIST Data Object, the UUT Shall send out a continuous string of BMC encoded alternating "1"s and “0”s. The UUT Shall exit the Continuous BIST Mode within tBISTContMode of this Continuous BIST Mode being enabled(see Section 6.6.7.2). 6.4.3.2 BIST Test Data Upon receipt of a BIST Message, with a BIST Test Data BIST Data Object, the UUT Shall return a GoodCRC Message and Shall enter a test mode in which it sends no further Messages except for GoodCRC Messages in response to received Messages. See Section 5.9.2 for the definition of the Test Data Frame. The test Shall be ended by sending Hard Reset Signaling to reset the UUT. This patch adds new config_ep_by_speed_and_alt function which extends the config_ep_by_speed about alt parameter. This additional parameter allows to find proper usb_ss_ep_comp_descriptor. During handling UAS alternate setting f_tcm driver invokes config_ep_by_speed and this function sets incorrect companion endpoint descriptor in usb_ep object. Instead setting ep->comp_desc to uasp_bi_ep_comp_desc function in this case set ep->comp_desc to uasp_ss_bi_desc. This is due to the fact that it searches endpoint based on endpoint address: for_each_ep_desc(speed_desc, d_spd) { chosen_desc = (struct usb_endpoint_descriptor *)*d_spd; if (chosen_desc->bEndpoitAddress == _ep->address) goto ep_found; } And in result it uses the descriptor from BOT alternate setting instead UAS. Finally, it causes that controller driver during enabling endpoints detect that just enabled endpoint for bot. 2020-05-25usb: gadget: core: sync interrupt before unbind the udcPeter Chen1-0/+2
The threaded interrupt handler may still be called after the usb_gadget_disconnect is called, it causes the structures used at interrupt handler was freed before it uses, eg the usb_request. This issue usually occurs we remove the udc function during the transfer. Below is the example when doing stress test for android switch function, the EP0's request is freed by .unbind (configfs_composite_unbind -> composite_dev_cleanup), but the threaded handler accesses this request during handling setup packet request. 2020-03-11cdc_ncm: Implement the 32-bit version of NCM Transfer BlockAlexander Bersenev1-3/+12
The NCM specification defines two formats of transfer blocks: with 16-bit fields (NTB-16) and with 32-bit fields (NTB-32). Currently only NTB-16 is implemented. This patch adds the support of NTB-32. The motivation behind this is that some devices such as E5785 or E5885 from the current generation of Huawei LTE routers do not support NTB-16. The previous generations of Huawei devices are also use NTB-32 by default. Also this patch enables NTB-32 by default for Huawei devices. During the 2019 ValdikSS made five attempts to contact Huawei to add the NTB-16 support to their router firmware, but they were unsuccessful. There is also a new connector state value for the Thunderbolt 3 Alternate Mode that can be used with the mux drivers. The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. Since EHCI/OHCI controllers on R-Car Gen3 SoCs are possible to be getting stuck very rarely after a full/low usb device was disconnected. To detect/recover from such a situation, the controllers require a special way which poll the EHCI PORTSC register and changes the OHCI functional state. So, this patch adds a polling timer into the ehci-platform driver, and if the ehci driver detects the issue by the EHCI PORTSC register, the ehci driver removes a companion device (= the OHCI controller) to change the OHCI functional state to USB Reset once. And then, the ehci driver adds the companion device again. With the advent of USB4, "Thunderbolt" has really become USB4, so the renaming of the Kconfig option and starting to share subsystem code has begun, hence both subsystems coming in through the same tree here. PHY driver updates also touched USB drivers, so that is coming in through here as well.
