2014-07-18ssb: extract power info from SPROM revs 4 and 5Rafał Miłecki1-0/+37
This is needed to properly handle early 802.11n devices like BCM4321. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <zajec5@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2014-05-19ssb: sprom: add dev_id field for value overriding standard IDRafał Miłecki1-0/+1
Some devices may have different features despite sharing the same ID (e.g. PCI ID). For example 14e4:4331 is usually a dual band, but this can be "limited". Device with "pci/x/y/devid=0x4332" supports 2.4 GHz only. Similarly 0x4333 will mean support for 5 GHz only. Add entry in SPROM so info described above can be extracted and stored. Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/emulex/benet/be_main.c drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb_main.c drivers/net/wireless/brcm80211/brcmsmac/mac80211_if.c include/net/scm.h net/batman-adv/routing.c net/ipv4/tcp_input.c The e{uid, gid} --> {uid, gid} credentials fix conflicted with the cleanup in net-next to now pass cred structs around. The be2net driver had a bug fix in 'net' that overlapped with the VLAN interface changes by Patrick McHardy in net-next. An IGB conflict existed because in 'net' the build_skb() support was reverted, and in 'net-next' there was a comment style fix within that code. Several batman-adv conflicts were resolved by making sure that all calls to batadv_is_my_mac() are changed to have a new bat_priv first argument. Eric Dumazet's TS ECR fix in TCP in 'net' conflicted with the F-RTO rewrite in 'net-next', mostly overlapping changes. 2013-02-07ssb: get mac address from sprom struct for gige driverHauke Mehrtens1-12/+11
The mac address is already stored in the sprom structure by the platform code of the SoC this Ethernet core is found on, it just has to be fetched from this structure instead of accessing the nvram here. This patch also adds a return value to indicate if a mac address could be fetched from the sprom structure. When CONFIG_SSB_DRIVER_GIGE is not set the header file now also declares ssb_gige_get_macaddr(). 2013-01-30ssb: add gpio_to_irqHauke Mehrtens1-0/+5
The old bcm47xx gpio code had support for gpio_to_irq, but the new code did not provide this function, but returned -ENXIO all the time. This patch adds the missing function. arch/mips/bcm47xx/wgt634u.c calls gpio_to_irq() and got the correct irq number with the old gpio handling code. With this patch the code in wgt634u.c should work again. I do not have a wgt634u to test this. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: John W. 2012-12-06ssb: register watchdog driverHauke Mehrtens1-0/+2
Register the watchdog driver to the system if it is a SoC. Using the watchdog on a non SoC device, like a PCI card, will make the PCI card die when the timeout expired, but starting it again is not supported by ssb. 2012-12-06ssb: add methods for watchdog driverHauke Mehrtens1-2/+3

2012-11-21ssb: add GPIO driverHauke Mehrtens1-0/+4
Register a GPIO driver to access the GPIOs provided by the chip. The GPIOs of the SoC should always start at 0 and the other GPIOs could start at a random position. There is just one SoC in a system and when they start at 0 the number is predictable. 2012-03-24Merge tag 'bug-for-3.4' of ↵Linus Torvalds1-0/+1
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/paulg/linux Pull <linux/bug.h> cleanup from Paul Gortmaker: "The changes shown here are to unify linux's BUG support under the one <linux/bug.h> file. Due to historical reasons, we have some BUG code in bug.h and some in kernel.h -- i.e. the support for BUILD_BUG in linux/kernel.h predates the addition of linux/bug.h, but old code in kernel.h wasn't moved to bug.h at that time. As a band-aid, kernel.h was including <asm/bug.h> to pseudo link them. This has caused confusion[1] and general yuck/WTF[2] reactions. Here is an example that violates the principle of least surprise: CC lib/string.o lib/string.c: In function 'strlcat': lib/string.c:225:2: error: implicit declaration of function 'BUILD_BUG_ON' make[2]: *** [lib/string.o] Error 1 $ $ grep linux/bug.h lib/string.c #include <linux/bug.h> $ We've included <linux/bug.h> for the BUG infrastructure and yet we still get a compile fail! [We've not kernel.h for BUILD_BUG_ON.] Ugh - very confusing for someone who is new to kernel development. With the above in mind, the goals of this changeset are: 1) find and fix any include/*.h files that were relying on the implicit presence of BUG code. 2) find and fix any C files that were consuming kernel.h and hence relying on implicitly getting some/all BUG code. 3) Move the BUG related code living in kernel.h to <linux/bug.h> 4) remove the asm/bug.h from kernel.h to finally break the chain. During development, the order was more like 3-4, build-test, 1-2. But to ensure that git history for bisect doesn't get needless build failures introduced, the commits have been reorderd to fix the problem areas in advance. 2012-03-04BUG: headers with BUG/BUG_ON etc. need linux/bug.hPaul Gortmaker1-0/+1
If a header file is making use of BUG, BUG_ON, BUILD_BUG_ON, or any other BUG variant in a static inline (i.e. not in a #define) then that header really should be including <linux/bug.h> and not just expecting it to be implicitly present. The original implementations reference THIS_MODULE in an inline. We could include <linux/export.h>, but it is better to avoid chaining. Fortunately someone else already thought of this, and made a similar inline into a #define in <linux/device.h> for device_schedule_callback(), [see commit 523ded71de0] so follow that precedent here. 2011-05-19SSB: Change fallback sprom to callback mechanism.Hauke Mehrtens1-1/+3
Some embedded devices like the Netgear WNDR3300 have two SSB based cards without an own sprom on the pci bus. We have to provide two different fallback sproms for these and this was not possible with the old solution. In the bcm47xx architecture the sprom data is stored in the nvram in the main flash storage. The architecture code will be able to fill the sprom with the stored data based on the bus where the device was found. The bcm63xx code should do the same thing as before, just using the new API.
