2017-05-05Merge tag 'drm/tegra/for-4.12-rc1' of ↵Dave Airlie1-2/+10
git://anongit.freedesktop.org/tegra/linux into drm-next drm/tegra: Changes for v4.12-rc1 This contains various fixes to the host1x driver as well as a plug for a leak of kernel pointers to userspace. A fairly big addition this time around is the Video Image Composer (VIC) support that can be used to accelerate some 2D and image compositing operations. Furthermore the driver now supports FB modifiers, so we no longer rely on a custom IOCTL to set those. Finally this contains a few preparatory patches for Tegra186 support which unfortunately didn't quite make it this time, but will hopefully be ready for v4.13. * tag 'drm/tegra/for-4.12-rc1' of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/tegra/linux: gpu: host1x: Fix host1x driver shutdown gpu: host1x: Support module reset gpu: host1x: Sort includes alphabetically drm/tegra: Add VIC support dt-bindings: Add bindings for the Tegra VIC drm/tegra: Add falcon helper library drm/tegra: Add Tegra DRM allocation API drm/tegra: Add tiling FB modifiers drm/tegra: Don't leak kernel pointer to userspace drm/tegra: Protect IOMMU operations by mutex drm/tegra: Enable IOVA API when IOMMU support is enabled gpu: host1x: Add IOMMU support gpu: host1x: Fix potential out-of-bounds access iommu/iova: Fix compile error with CONFIG_IOMMU_IOVA=m iommu: Add dummy implementations for !IOMMU_IOVA MAINTAINERS: Add related headers to IOMMU section iommu/iova: Consolidate code for adding new node to iovad domain rbtree
2017-04-20dma-buf: Rename dma-ops to prevent conflict with kunmap_atomic macroLogan Gunthorpe1-4/+4
Seeing the kunmap_atomic dma_buf_ops share the same name with a macro in highmem.h, the former can be aliased if any dma-buf user includes that header. I'm personally trying to include highmem.h inside scatterlist.h and this breaks the dma-buf code proper. Christoph Hellwig suggested [1] renaming it and pushing this patch ASAP. To maintain consistency I've renamed all four of kmap* and kunmap* to be map* and unmap*. (Even though only kmap_atomic presently conflicts.) 2017-02-03drm: Improve drm_mm search (and fix topdown allocation) with rbtreesChris Wilson1-2/+2
The drm_mm range manager claimed to support top-down insertion, but it was neither searching for the top-most hole that could fit the allocation request nor fitting the request to the hole correctly. In order to search the range efficiently, we create a secondary index for the holes using either their size or their address. This index allows us to find the smallest hole or the hole at the bottom or top of the range efficiently, whilst keeping the hole stack to rapidly service evictions. v2: Search for holes both high and low. Rename flags to mode. v3: Discover rb_entry_safe() and use it! v4: Kerneldoc for enum drm_mm_insert_mode. 2016-12-14mm: use vmf->address instead of of vmf->virtual_addressJan Kara1-2/+2

2016-11-11drm/tegra: Support kernel mappings with IOMMUArto Merilainen1-3/+31
host1x command buffer patching requires that the buffer object can be mapped into kernel address space. However, the recent addition of IOMMU support did not account for this requirement. Therefore host1x engines cannot be used if IOMMU is enabled. This patch implements kmap, kunmap, mmap and munmap functions to host1x buffer objects. 2016-10-05drm/prime: Take a ref on the drm_dev when exporting a dma_bufChris Wilson1-1/+1
dma_buf may live a long time, longer than the last direct user of the driver. We already hold a reference to the owner module (that prevents the object code from disappearing), but there is no reference to the drm_dev - so the pointers to the driver backend themselves may vanish. v2: Resist temptation to fix the bug in armada_gem.c not setting the correct flags on the exported dma-buf (it should pass the flags through and not be arbitrarily setting O_RDWR). Use a common wrapper for exporting the dmabuf and acquiring the reference to the drm_device. 2016-03-09dma, mm/pat: Rename dma_*_writecombine() to dma_*_wc()Luis R. Rodriguez1-6/+5
Rename dma_*_writecombine() to dma_*_wc(), so that the naming is coherent across the various write-combining APIs. Keep the old names for compatibility for a while, these can be removed at a later time. A guard is left to enable backporting of the rename, and later remove of the old mapping defines seemlessly. Build tested successfully with allmodconfig. The following Coccinelle SmPL patch was used for this simple transformation: @ rename_dma_alloc_writecombine @ expression dev, size, dma_addr, gfp; @@ -dma_alloc_writecombine(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp) +dma_alloc_wc(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp) @ rename_dma_free_writecombine @ expression dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr; @@ -dma_free_writecombine(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr) +dma_free_wc(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr) @ rename_dma_mmap_writecombine @ expression dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size; @@ -dma_mmap_writecombine(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size) +dma_mmap_wc(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size) We also keep the old names as compatibility helpers, and guard against their definition to make backporting easier. Since David Herrmann's mmap vma manager rework we don't need to grab dev->struct_mutex any more to prevent races when looking up the mmap offset. 2015-04-21dma-buf: cleanup dma_buf_export() to make it easily extensibleSumit Semwal1-2/+8

2014-12-17drm/tegra: gem: Use the proper size for GEM objectsThierry Reding1-7/+7
If the requested buffer size wasn't a multiple of the page size, the IOMMU code would round down the size to the next multiple of the page size, thereby causing translation errors. To fix this we no longer pass around the requested size but reuse the computed size of the GEM object. This is already rounded to the next page boundary, so mapping that size works out fine. 2014-11-13drm/tegra: gem: dumb: pitch and size are outputsThierry Reding1-7/+3
When creating a dumb buffer object using the DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB IOCTL, only the width, height, bpp and flags parameters are inputs. The caller is not guaranteed to zero out or set handle, pitch and size, so the driver must not treat these values as possible inputs.
